Heavy Menstrual Bleeding
Some women suffer from heavy and prolonged periods which can affect their quality of life. There are several options for treatment for heavy periods such as:
- Hormone therapy
- Surgical options
- Endometrial ablation
Endometrial ablation is a 20-30 minute procedure done in the Dr’s office and does not require an IV and only minimal anesthesia.
If a woman has determined that she has completed her family and does not desire any more children and there are no other underlying medical issues causing heavy bleeding, there are procedures that can be done easily in the office by our physician, Dr. McCord, which are done in the office and do not require a long recovery time. Most women can return to normal activity within a day.
